Shelly Donahue, will present a “hang on to your seats” presentation. As co-creator of a national abstinence and relationship curriculum called WAIT Training (Why Am I Tempted), she has addressed thousands of young people, parents and teachers in 48 states and 7 foreign countries over the past 20 years in public and private school districts. Her most recent international teaching experience was in China, where she taught as a guest college professor. Previous to her role with WAIT Training, she was a Health Education and PE teacher for 19 years; coaching volleyball, basketball, and track & field at the high school level in the mountains of Colorado. One of Shelly’s significant accomplishments, in a practical sense, comes from her service as the Abstinence Education Director on the staff of the Weld County Health Department for five years. During her tenure there, she provided abstinence education teaching and training to schools, churches, youth-service agencies, and medical providers that resulted in a 25% drop in teen fertility over five years. Shelly has two grown children and is a grandmother to three. She is active in the SOZO and Healing Prayer ministries at Resurrection Fellowship Church in Loveland, CO; plays competitive USTA tennis and lives in Eaton, CO. Passionately committed to Jesus Christ as the ultimate answer, and standing 6’3″ tall, Shelly now calls her outreach to teens and parents, “TALL Truth!” Kids love her! Parents love her! And educators love her! We’re praying that the Lord will use her once again, for those in her audience to make healthy choices to raise the bar of sexual self-control so they can reach their hopes and dreams for their future!
